DJ Jim Belanger
If there is one word to describe Jim’s music style over the years, it’s underground – which is what you would expect from someone in the business for over 25 years. Jim specializes in keeping it dark and sexy while blending the underground sounds of Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, and London. His past Chicago residencies include Domaine, Narcisse, Glow, Manhole, Vortex, Fusion, Redno5, Spin, Neo, Ka-Boom, and Roscoe’s. Jim was also one of the regular guest DJs at Chicago’s infamous Crobar. His talented ear has taken Jim across the US, Europe, and Puerto Rico. Whether you hear him in an intimate lounge with 100 people or an airplane hanger with 5,000 partiers, Jim sets the mood with a perfect mix of Minimal, Tech, Tribal, and House while keeping the perfect balance of entertaining his audience while pushing them to experience a new sound. Harry Cross is member of the DJ duo Harry+Jpeg and co-founder of the monthly Men’s Room parties at Wang’s Gentleman’s Lounge in Chicago. His style is a sexy blend of dirty Chicago house, UK bass and sleazy Detroit acid stompers. Harry’s sound has caught the attention of several alternative gay parties seeking a fresh anti-pop dance sound such as Queen at Smart Bar Chicago and Honey Soundsystem in San Francisco as well as Steamworks. DJ Jesse Mercado
“For years friends told me to get behind the decks and learn the trade, but I was very content leaving the spinning to the professionals and spending my time on the dance floor. My reluctance to get behind the decks changed after attending the 2005 Black & Blue circuit party in Montreal. Watching and listening to Danny Tenaglia whip a crowd of 17,000 people into a joyous 10 hour frenzy which nearly blew the roof off Olympic Stadium made me realize one thing; I wanted to be behind the decks.” Listen to DJ Jesse Mercado on MixCloud. Jacob Meehan, aka DJ JPEG got his start DJing in Chicago on the airwaves of Loyola University’s WLUW where he was an undergrad maintaining an on-air show over the course of four years. Now, almost ten years later he is one half of the deejay duo Harry+JPEG and co-founder of the monthly Men’s Room parties at Wang’s. Recent appearances include Folsom Street Festival (SF), Luther (NYC), The Carry Nation (NYC) and VIA Festival (Pittsburgh). His taste is deeply rooted in Chicago’s historic dance music scene yet strives to connect the dots with contemporary sounds; he has a penchant for raw percussion, vintage synths, Detroit-style drum programming and jacking techno. Meehan is currently on staff at Gramaphone Records, the legendary forty-five year old record store located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.
