Reopening Changes for  Vancouver Members

Steamworks Gym/Spa Covid-19 Safety Protocols

 

The following protocols will be monitored by the General Manager, Facilities Manager, and/or Lead Clerk

1. Front Desk:

  • UPON Arrival

    • temperature Health check - if pass, put on mask, enter club

    • use hand sanitizer upon entering

    • enter front desk area; no more than 2 persons with masks.

    • wipe down counters, partitions, monitors with cleaning solution once per hour.

    • spray disinfect keyboards

    • set up disinfectant solution for keys

  • ONLY front desk clerk(s) behind the counter at all times.

    • one person leaves, next person takes over

  • Enforce physical distancing of 2 metres between customers at all times

    • floor markings to show distance to be kept apart.

  • Lysol disinfectant spray available to spray keyboard, monitors etc

  • Single use plastic gloves to be worn at all times. Present video of how to remove gloves properly. Instructions posted by the front desk sink area.

    • Gloves MUST BE deposed into a plastic garbage bag.

    • Gloves should be changed after every customer interaction where there has been some sort of contact like holding ID, bag check etc.

 

Step 2: Implement protocols to reduce the risks cont.

  • Washable face mask or otherN95, KN95 or surgical mask MUST be worn while talking interacting with to customers or other employees.

  • Frequent hand washing. Hand soap is available. 20 second hand washing rule in effect.

    • wash hands after every customer interaction if possible.

    • Wash hands every time reentering desk area

  • Hand sanitizer is available

  • Prepare disinfectant bucket twice during shift to wash change room keys after every use. Drop in bucket of solution for 10 minutes, dry off and return to safety box.

  • Contactless entry as much as possible. External card swipe for customers to swipe credit card when available.

  • Wipe down key/swipe pad after every customer use

  • Use clean/sanitized pen for every customer

  • Install new Plexi-glass or face shields at/for checkout window

  • Membership/contact info for all customers

  • Wash/sanitize keys after every use.

  • AVOID touching face

2. Housekeeping:

  • No more than 2 housekeeper all times

  • Single use plastic gloves to be worn at all times.

    • Present video of how to remove gloves properly.

    • New gloves for each duty: cleaning each room, after laundry is done

    • Gloves MUST BE deposed into a plastic garbage bag.

    • Gloves to be changed after every room clean

  • Washable or otherN95, KN95 or surgical face mask MUST be worn at all times, especially while talking tointeracting customers and other employees

  • Frequent hand washing. Hand soap is available. 20 second hand washing rule in effect.

    • wash hands after every customer contact if possible.

    • Wash hands every time reentering desk area

  • NO dry sweeping. Vacuum instead of sweeping, wet wipe instead of dry dusting.

    • Mop water changed every hour.

  • Lysol surface spray to wipe down commonly touched surfaces

    • Door handles, railings

    • This will be done on a consistent bases at least every 30 minutes

  • Sinks and washrooms wiped down every 30 minutes

  • Enforce social distancing with customers at all times

  • AVOID touching face especially nose and mouth

  • Collecting towel laundry: Do not shake dirty laundry; this minimizes the possibility of dispersing droplets.

 

  • LAUNDRY ROOM:

    • No more than 1 person in laundry at a time

    • Gloves must be worn at all times and changed after handling dirty laundry

    • Launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items

    • Dry items completely.

    • DO NOT OVERLOAD machines

  • Clean and disinfect laundry hampers or other carts for transporting laundry after emptying. Can use Lysol spray.

 

3. Gym area:

  • No loitering in gym area. Must be in area to work out

  • Add additional handy wipe stations or provide spray bottle

    • provide gym users a spray bottle of Lysol solution to clean gym equipment

  • Front Desk to monitor gym use and wipe down all equipment and any dividers every 30 – 60 minutes or after customer use

  • No more than 2 people in the gym at a time.

4. Main floor:

  • No more than 2 chairs in lounge area so there is no congregation

  • Floor markings for check-out counter adhering to social distancing protocol

5. For customers:

  • Do not allow in if showing symptoms

  • Ask customers standard health questions upon checking in

  • Take temperature & Verify member is fully vaccinated

  • Complete and sign assessment/waiver form

  • Review new guidelines for being in the club with each customer

  • Membership/contact info for all: phone number, email.

  • Do not allow to congregate in groups of 2 or more in the common areas. No open change room doors at any time if more than 1 person.

  • Must be in gym area to work out.

    • No loitering in gym area.

    • Get spray of Lysol cleaning solution from desk

    • No more than 2 people in the gym at a time.

  • Risk Assessment for customers

    • Covid-19 protocols reviewed before entry to club

    • Staff to adhere to and remind customers of policies

    • Customers NOT following protocols will be asked to leave

      • If customer does not leave, they will be banned from club upon check out.

    • Interactions with unwilling customers will be non-confrontational.
